Choosing the Right Mattress

Getting a good night's rest is important. In fact, that's what this entire website is devoted to helping you do. While there are many things you can do to promote good sleep, having a comfortable mattress is one of them. But how do you know which is the right one for you?

In today's post, we'll take a closer look at the different types of mattresses. This should help making that decision a little easier.

Buying a new mattress can be a very exciting experience. The problem is that if you don’t choose the right one then you could be compromising your own investment and this is the last thing that you’ll want to do. Of course, when choosing a mattress you need to choose one that fits your living requirements as well as finding one that fits your body shape as well.

Let's dive in.

Latex

Latex mattresses are actually made from latex form and they are known for having great cooling properties. If you are struggling to cool down at night or if you can’t sleep in high heat then this is a brilliant option for you. On top of that, it is super responsive and it has a good level of bounce. After all, who doesn’t like a bouncy mattress! If you want foam but you don’t like the hug and contour that comes with them then this is again, the right one for you.

Memory Foam

Memory foam is exactly what the name says it is. They are known for offering a great level of comfort and it is also great at offering you a high level of contour support. If you struggle with pressure points throughout the body then this is the best option for you. Of course, if you want a portable option it may even be worth considering opting for an air mattress. When you do opt for an air mattress, you can easily take your mattress with you wherever you go and the air will follow the shape of your body just like a memory foam. Some people find that memory foam makes them feel hot, but the newer and more advanced mattresses actually come with cooling properties. On top of this, you feel like you’re getting a hug in bed!

Coils

Coils are one of the most popular forms of mattress. Coils have one or more layers of coils that have been compacted to try and support your body. As technology advances, mattress makers are able to incorporate more coils and the more coils you have, the comfier the mattress is in general. If you like a good, bouncy mattress with strong edge support then this is the one for you. The only downside is that the coils may start to poke through the mattress when you have had it for a number of years.

Pillow Top

Pillow top mattresses come in a huge range of categories. You have the hybrid, the memory foam, the latex and even the coil. Pillow-top mattresses actually have a stuffed or even a sewn cover. This provides you with a lot of extra comfort and if you want a cushion-soft mattress then this is a brilliant buy. It will make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud and it is ideal if you want to have a really soft mattress to sleep on at night.

So there are plenty of options available for you to choose from and you would be surprised at how much of a difference a new mattress can make to your sleeping routine.
